This beautifully simple shape is inspired by English horticultural terracotta from the 19th century. Victorian era pots like this were made and sold by the ton, and were the equivalent of today's disposable grower's pots.
This is a special version I've made as a thank you for my Instagram friend Laura of @howsitgrowingnj. Before I had returned to the studio full-time in 2020, Laura had requested that I make a traditional English Rhubarb Forcer for her. Laura's enthusiasm for gardening, and love of garden pottery, helped spread the word on social media that I was making garden pottery full-time. Social media is a powerful tool, and it has helped me find exactly the right audience for my pottery.
