Fluting is a time honored decorative element that I have come to embrace in my pots. In Greek architecture fluting was used to give more play of light on columns, making them appear taller and more perfectly round. On this pot, I've given the fluting a diagonal, spiral orientation, which gives a different sensibility to the visual movement. The pattern and texture makes for an interesting play between the pot and the planting it holds.
