The decorative rim on this pot carries a beautiful fan motif, which is impressed with a "coggle" tool, (also referred to as a "roulette"). This allows the potter to apply texture to the wet clay while the wheel is still spinning. The way the glaze melts over the impressed design accentuates the detail.
This pot did not get stamped on the wheel, so does not bear any Wakefield Handmade mark, but it was made by my hands right here in Rockdale, Wisconsin!
