The Cotswold Half Pot is inspired by flowerpots from the Cotswold region of England. I first saw this piecrust motif on a trip to visit the Whichford Pottery in 2003, and always admired how well the Whichford potters did the piecrust before the pot was taken off the wheel. It may look easy for an experienced potter, but it was difficult for me to learn!
This style is called a "Half Pot" because it looks like the lower half of a "Full Pot" which would continue the lines upward to at least twice the height. Pots like these are great for multiple plantings and container gardens. The largest size, a #24, (24 lbs. of wet clay to start with) is approximately 16" wide. Each pot comes with a matching saucer which has been treated with acrylic sealer to make it water resistant.
