Details
This mug has a "coggled" texture, impressed when the pot was wet on the potter's wheel.  A coggle, (also sometimes called a roulette), is a small wheel made of clay or wood which has different textures that can be impressed into wet clay.  Tools like this were often used to mare wares in 19th century English and American potteries.  Each of these has a smooth white interior glaze, which allows one to appreciate the color of the coffee or tea being enjoyed, and makes the mug easy to clean.
